For those of you who have seen the movie " the way" you might be familiar with a character called ramone? It seems we had our ramone experience last night, or I will call her ramona. Staying in a charming town of cizur manur, just outside Pamplona. The lady running the albergue was kinda quirky. The albergue sleeps about 50 people and she was very stressed about the crowds as she is claustrophobic and doesn't like people!!!!! Adding to the atmosphere was a huge storm that lasted for hours and heavy rain all night. It made for a cold , wet start this morning, testing out our jackets and shoes, all passed. We both even have dry socks at the end of the day and that is really saying something. We have had a taste of the conditions that the pelligrinos that were walking prior to us had to endure. Everyone had muddy feet and legs, some had mud over their backs and sides!
The walk today left cizur minor through town then into fields of wheat, we think. Up a bit of a hill to a string of wind generators and a line of sculptures: again those familiar with "the way" will know. Generally a gentle walk, except for the mud!

Hot showers! Dryer!!! Such luxuries.
