A moment of some reflection as we have been away from home for 2 weeks and walking consistently for10 days. In those 10 days covered about 170k. It is both physically and mentally challenging, but I am told it takes 3 weeks to develop a habit so bring on next week.
Some interesting observations. Thankfully cafes are frequent and the quality of cafe con leche (essentially a flat white )will vary but always welcome. Cost approx €1.50. No need to carry huge amounts of water, fountains in most villages and the water is cold and fresh.
Friendships, they develop quickly and with an intensity that I haven't experienced before when travelling. I guess we are all here with a shared goal to get to the other end and grow somehow in the process.
Today has turned cold again, in direct contrast to yesterday. We have decided on a shorter walk today because we are exhausted and the feet feel broken. 17 km to Nàjera. Funny town but nice albergue. Arrived bout 1pm to have an afternoon just chilling, catching up on blog and generally having feet up. Thank god.
